Bev Gilbert

Author, editor and horse-lover.

Beverley (Bev) Gilbert is my name, Australian author of six non-fiction books for children and adults, most of which are about horses. I have also written a number of stories for mainstream magazines. Lately I have been enjoying writing children’s fiction.

Having spent many years living in Melbourne, I am now enjoying life on a small property in the Yarra Valley, where I own two miniature Shetland ponies. There is Ebony, who I have owned since he was a baby, and there is black-and-white Mister Bojangles, whose thick mane and forelock are impossible to tame! These ponies have stolen their way into my heart.

Most of my books have been published under my business name, Elton Publications. Elton Publications also offers proofreading and editing services.

I have used two different pen-names for my horse books: Beverley Heselton and Melanie Gilbert.

My most recent books are Annie’s Life Turns Upside Down, Holly’s Dream and Horsing Around. For details of these books, go to my Books page.

Other books written by me include:
